Let’s Start From The Beginning

So three years ago we were living in New Braunfels, TX and renting a beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bath 2 car garage duplex. It was just one kiddo at this time. My husband found a new job that would be moving us to Houston. So we first started looking into a actual home, I think it was a KB Home, but anyways we found one and started the process of purchasing the home, it was our first time “buying”. So we went ahead and gave our notice for the duplex we were renting and started packing and getting ready for a massive garage sale. Well the house purchase took a lot longer than the time frame we needed to move out of the rental . So we needed to have a back up plan. My husbands idea was to stay in his bosses travel trailer until the house was done with the processing of the sale. I wasn’t against it but I thought we should rather just have our own. So while my husband had started his new job in Houston, I stayed behind and finished with the rental . Selling and cleaning. During this process and having enough time to find a RV that would be suitable for our needs and get out of the rental before we had to be out.

It was a bit stressful getting it all done, but I did it! Eventually. My husband would go to dealerships everyday after work to look but they were closing by the time he got there so the time spent trying to find one was very little. If I had any regrets that would be it….not having enough time to find the perfect RV for our family. We were rushed in the whole thing. No one likes to be rushed in big decisions, you know?

So we finally decided on a RV, a Forest River Sierra. So Exciting. There are SO many to choose from so I definitely recommend doing of research on a unit that will fit your needs, if you got the time for it, do it! Like I mentioned earlier that is my major regret. So make sure you find one that you will love, I do love my home but I know there are more out there that would have been more suitable for our needs. We just didn’t have the time.

I have a tour video I will share later. I have so much to share!

What’s on my desk

I spend more and more time at my desk these days, doing everything from preparing the family taxes to working on this blog. Because of this, my workspace is constantly changing. Holding the clutter at bay is challenging, so I prefer to keep nearby only a few quality items that serve multiple purposes over a stockpile of things I might never need.

I do most of my work on my iPad Pro, just the WiFi one. I have a keyboard case so I can type if it were a laptop. I love tech! I also use my Apple Pencil when I am Procreate, creating and then I also have my iPhone. Oh and also my water jug, gotta stay hydrated!

Staying Organized

Who me? Organized? My husband might tell you otherwise, but I do find it hard to keep track of our weekly schedule. You know: school, after school activities, grocery shopping, tidying up, paying bills, remembering appointments and so on. Fortunately, in our house we all pitch in. Even the littles. No one person does everything. But we do have secrets that help our day run more smoothly.

Travel Tips+

There are millions of tips out there on how to fly with kids, what to bring on camping vacations, which suitcase to buy, where to go and what to see in about every corner on Earth. Being prepared is always important. During my 3 years of full-time life in a RV there are things that I have found along the way to help make life in the RV a little easier. I can share with you, all that I have found. I looked into getting help keep the rig cleaner and even a little more organized.
